Region: Bierzo, Spain

Bodegas Peique is a family winery currently owned and operated by Luis and Sagrario Peique and their children. The winery, which is located in Valtuille de Abajo, Bierzo, emerged in 1999 as a joint partnership of three generations of the Peique family, whose winemaking dates back to 1912. Most of the vineyards were planted in the first half of the 20th century by Ramón Valle and Ramón Peique, grandfather and great-uncle respectively of the current generation at the head of the winery. The current winemaker is Jorge Peique; Mar Peique serves as General Manager. The search for quality through craftsmanship and technology is the defining characteristic of the winery, which hosted a century-old tradition in wine production. Peique is a family wine from Bierzo, a commitment to life, a link between the family and the wine. Their vineyards are almost 100 years old and are planted with Godello and Mencía. This Mencía comes from 45-55 year old vines, at 450-500 meters.

Food Pairing: Perfect with roasted pork or duck, any vegetables from the grill and hearty stew.
